WARRINGTON-born and bred multi-instrumentalist Peter Price returns to his home town on Saturday, December 1.
Peter is best known as a guitarist and singer influenced by such blues luminaries as Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Blake, Robert Johnson and Blind Boy Fuller.
But he also acknowledges the influence of Led Zeppelin, the Kinks and the Rolling Stones and has a wide and varied repertoire including evocative versions of Latin American dance tunes, Indian Ragas and Easter European music.His album “Big Road Blues”, has consolidated his reputation by demonstrating his complete mastery of classic country and Delta blues styles as well as ragtime, jazz and beyond – not to mention his own compositions! By his teens he was a competent ukelele, mandolin and tin whistle player and soon after he was drawn to the acoustic guitar.
In 2000 Peter made his first visit to the USA having been invited to play concerts in North Carolina and three performances at the South Carolina Blues Festival. He was so well received that he was requested to give a further three concerts.
An artist who takes pride in his craft, Peter Price constantly strives to share his enthusiasm and passion for the musical influences which have inspired him.
