Teachers' workshop looks to the future

STAFF from a number of Warrington schools will come together for a forward-thinking workshop on curriculum innovation.
The meeting will be William Beamont High School on Thursday, November 24.
Teachers will be aiming to study ways of developing high quality, creative course work and content for their pupils and the most effective learning experiences possible.
The workshops have been organised in anticipation of the ongoing Government review of the national curriculum, which is expected to give teachers more freedom around curriculum design and delivery.
Cllr Colin Froggatt (pictured), Warrington Borough Council’s executive member for children and young people’s services, said: “These sessions are a great way to bring staff from schools together to explore creative ways to improve and develop the curriculum they provide to pupils.
“This event is just one of many initiatives underway which aim to ensure we continue to provide an excellent education for our children and young people.”
The event follows on from a successful showcase in June which looked at transforming learning projects aimed at embracing new technologies from schools across the town.

  1. Indeed they might be Eagle, but alas not for work related matters. In relation to the matter that they will be striking over, those of them who have any understanding of maths will be able to calculate what a generous pension scheme they actually have, providing them with not only a pension for life but also a nice tax free payment when they retire. With regards to the curriculum, maybe just stick with the real basics and ensure that all school leavers are functionally numerate and literate, sadly many currently are not, despite having certificates that imply that they are.
