YOUNG cycling fans now have an exciting new club to join in Warrington.
North Cheshire Clarion, Warrington’s fastest-growing cycling club, launched a new Kids Club at Great Sankey Leisure Centre. It was developed under British Cycling’s Go-Ride initiative.
The new club provides structured cycling activities in a traffic-free environment. The summer Saturday sessions combine fun games, activities and friendly competition for children aged six to 15 under the guidance of three qualified coaches.
North Cheshire chairman Geoff Prince said: “The Kids Club will allow children over the age of six to improve their cycling skills and riding techniques.
“They’ll also be able to compete with each other and, in time, against other kids from across the North West region, we might just discover the next Sir Chris Hoy or Victoria Pendleton.”
Cllr Kate Hannon, the borough council’s executive member for leisure, said “It’s good to see new sports being brought to the town and it helps bring the community together to get more healthy and active.”

  1. This sounds like a great idea, I remeber my first cycling club The Elizabethans when I used to live in Wolverhampton – it’s great exercise and fun in the fresh air.
