WHILE the snow and ice across

Warrington has brought misery to motorists and shoppers, it has also

provided plenty of fun for others and created a variety off scenes – including a polar bear sighting in town!
While the polar bears’ natural habitat is suffering from global warming, the one pictured above was seen residing in the Callands area of Warrington – the handy work of local landscape gardener Paul Conreen, who emailed in this impressive image.
Meanwhile amateur photographers – and proffesionals, have been busy snapping the snowy scenes across the town.
Popular locations include the Bridgewater Canal, The River Mersey, Victoria Park, Grappenhall Village and The Dingle at Appleton.
Special thanks to those who have been sending in their snow scenes including Karen from Stockton Heath, Paul Conreen from Callands, Eddie Whitham from Burtonwood and Jim Sparks from Appleton.
warrington-worldwide has compiled a special gallery of this year’s photographs – if you would like to send in your own pictures please email them to [email protected]

  1. Thanks for the compliment! It took an hour to pack the snow, 2 hours to shape. stones for eyes and coal for his nose, a piece of flat slate for his mouth and black pepper for his whiskers and ears.
