Improved care for mums-to-be

0

EXPECTANT mums at Warrington are benefiting from new changes to how maternity care is delivered.
They can now refer themselves direct to community midwives as soon as they know they are pregnant.
Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Trust has changed the way it delivers care by introducing the Pregnancy Parentcraft pathway, which has been designed to ensure that all expectant women in Warrington are given the opportunity to access health education and parenting advice throughout their pregnancy.
The classes are run by community midwives along with children centres and provide information on all aspects of pregnancy, health education, labour and postnatal care.
The new service has been trialled over an 18 month period in the Birchwood and Culcheth area and has proved successful.
More information on any aspect of pregnancy or how to book on to any of the classes offered can be obtained from the community midwives on 01925 662092.
