Ghetto blaster seized

TOWN Hall public protection officers at Warrington have seized televisions, speakers and a large “ghetto blaster” from a flat.
They swooped on the property at Latchford, in company with police and officials from Golden Gates Housing, after repeated complaints from neighbours about noise.
The occupant had continually breached a noise abatement notice served by the borough council.
Coun Mike Biggin, the council’s executive member for climate change and public protection said: “In this particular case the occupant was given every opportunity to adjust his behaviour, which was extremely detrimental to the lives of his neighbours, but ultimately he chose not to.
“People in Warrington do not have to live with music thumping night after night.
“Our team will always try to resolve these matters informally but when a resident does not co-operate we have powers to remove noise making equipment, without notice and by force if required.”
