PEOPLE in the Birchwood area of Warrington are being encouraged to don their outdoor clothing and help the rangers at a local park.
A series of events are being held at Birchwood Forest Park including bulb planting and woodland work days from November 6.
A park spokesman said: “The bulb planting helps green spaces look nicer, and supports local wildlife, while the woodland work days help clear areas of dense vegetation to help plant growth and improve community safety and access.
“Whether you come for the day or just for an hour, please take part!”
Events start from the ranger centre in the park, off Moss Gate.
Bulb planting will be held on Saturday November 6 from 10.30am to 12pm and 1.30pm to 3pm, when a selection of native British bulbs will be planted ready for a spectacular spring show.
On Sunday November 7, from 10am to 3pm there will be a woodland workday when people can help the rangers with their winter work to improve the park for both people and wildlife. People are advised to wear sturdy footwear and suitable clothing, and those attending must be over 16.
A similar work day will be held on Sunday January 23 from 10am to 3pm.
Further details are available from the rangers on 01925 824239.
