A boost for staff morale

A WARRINGTON stationery firm came up with an innovative way to boost staff morale – an amusing staff awards event.
For several weeks staff at Penketh’s voted to choose which employee they felt expressed the company’s brand values – Relationships, Innovation, Trust, Service, and the company’s brand personality – Fresh, Caring, Reliable and Fun.
Winners were presented with awards by managing director Mark Penketh and finance director Dave Finn at a ceremony at the Contemporary Urban Centre, Liverpool.
During the evening staff enjoyed looking and laughing at old photographs, team games, food and drink and music.
Award winners were: Becky Scholes, friendliest member of staff; Sandy Gabrielson, most caring member of staff; Iain Scott, most likely to go out of his way to help you; Karen Abel, most likely to be entrusted with an important task; Steve “Dr Fun” Patterson, most humourous member of staff; Iain Scott (again!), most reliable to do what he says he will.
Other winners were: Kevin Pulford, most forgetful employee; Ben Neary, unluckiest employee; Roger Sanders (for his fluorescent wardrobe), most likely to get noticed in a crowd.
During the night Mark Penketh and marketing manager Karen Abel were able to present the company’s new brand developed with creative agency Uniform which highlights the firm’s strengths.
