WARRINGTON maintained their unbeaten record since their return to division one of the Right Move Abroad Cheshire County League, despite being outclassed at Didsbury.
The home side batted first and reached 210-4, with none of the Warrington bowlers making much of an impression.
Warrington’s reply relied much on James Hughes’ fighting innings of 73 and at the close they were 147 with three wickets remaining.
It was a disappointing performance after the victories of the two previous weeks, but at least the unbeaten record remains.
In division two, Grappenhall claimed their first win of the season with a five-wicket victory over Stockport Georgians.
Grappenhall got off to a perfect start with former Lancashire player Steve Titchard and Sam Baxter both grabbing two early wickets to leave the visitors struggling on 44-4. But dropped catches enabled Georgians to declare on 185-6. Titchard finished with 3-36 and Baxter with 2-23.
Opener Paul Radage was run out in the second over when Grappenhall replied, but Ian Wright, 51 and Chris France, 58 put on 85 for the second wicket.
Although always in control of the game it took another fine innings by Steve Titchard, 49 not out and a quick 20 from Alan Brady to see the team home for a 25 point victory.
Grappenhall 2nd travelled to Macclesfield and put the home side in only to see them take advantage of a short boundary to amass 256-9. Matt Titchard took 2-38.. In reply none of the Grappenhall batsmen managed to stay in long enough to build an innings with captain Andrew Hards looking likely to be top scorer with 26 until young Sam Guest decided to attack the bowling with a blistering 38 runs which included nine fours. The team were eventually all out for 178, losing by 78 runs.
In the Meller Braggins Cheshire League, Stretton inflicted a massive 129-run defeat on Wirral.
Batting first, Stretton totalled 168-7 declared and then dismissed the home side for 39, Paul Critchley taking 6-19.
Lymm Oughtrington Park managed to hang on for a draw at Northwich after the home side had declared on 189-8, Scholes taking 4-63. Lymm were hanging on for 132-8 at the close.

Glazebury hung on for a draw at Rostherne where the home side batted first and scored 177-8. Jon Gibbons took 4-36. Glazebury finished on 137-8 with David Gibson top scoring with 44.
The derby match between Glazebury 2nd and Appleton 2nd ended in a nail-biting draw.
Wayne Hargreaves hit 40 and Callum Morgan 50 as Glazebury reached 140-8. Appleton were 138-9 at the close, Hargreaves taking 4-31 and Julian May 3-19.
Rylands continued with their impressive run with a 70-run victory at Langley.
