The reason Chris Sandow quit Warrington Wolves

0

CHRIS Sandow has revealed why he walked out on Warrington Wolves as he prepares to take part in a charity boxing match back home in Australia.

In an interview with Fox Sports the half-back says he was home sick and missing his family.

The thought on quitting his lucrative Super League contract entered his head 12 months ago when he returned to Australia where his uncle Ashley Hill, who he considered a father figure, was battling an unwinable fight with cancer.

His nephews only knew him as their uncle from TV. As a proud family man the distance from home was eating away at Sandow.

Despite being home sick he returned to England, for the 2016 season, but on returning to Australia after the Granmd Final defeat, he realised he couldn’t go back.

Sandow says he is sorry for the “messy exit” and admits it could have been done better and that a break down in communication between his management and the club had left a bad taste in his mouth.
