Chris Sandow quits Warrington Wolves

CHRIS Sandow will not be returning to Warrington Wolves for the 2017 season.

The influential half-back originally joined the Wolves on a two year deal but the club has confirmed today that Sandow will not be returning next season.

The club say Sandow’s agent has advised them that he has taken the decision not to return.

He arrived at the club in August 2015 after quitting Australia following a fall out with his previous coach at Paramatta.

Sandow, aged 27, missed the end of last season after being injured in the Challenge Cup final defeat, only returning as a substitute in the Grand Final.

He had been due to return to the club today (November 21st) to start pre-season training.

Warrington say they are disappointed at his decision not to return, which is a breach of contract and say they will be retaining his registration – although the search for a successor has already begun.

Wolves’ Head of Coaching Tony Smith says he is not surprised by the sudden departure, although disappointed in the manner it was conducted, adding that there would be a “few less grey hairs” off field.
