A motorist was trapped in his vehicle following a collision with a heavy goods vehicle outside the Birch and Bottle pub at Lower Whitley near Warrington.
Firefighters worked to release him and then handed him into the care of the ambulance service following the road traffic collision at the junction of Bentleys Farm Lane on A559.
The road had to be closed while emergency services attended at scene.
