Former hooker Jon Clarke returns to Wolves

WARRINGTON Wolves have announced some backroom changes with former hooker Jon Clarke returning to the club on a two-year deal as head of strength and conditioning, with Mick Turner moving on.

Clarke is currently at Widnes where he finished his playing career after leaving Warrington in 2011 following a 10 year career which saw him make 234 appearances scoring  69 tries and kicking 72 goals. He made 47 appearances at Widnes over two seasons, scoring four tries, before joining the backroom staff. He previously played at Wigan and London Broncos.

Meanwhile Karl Fitzpatrick, current player welfare and football manager, will become head of rugby operations overseeing all rugby activity under Tony Smith including the first team, U19s and U16s academy operations.

Head physiotherapist Ben Stirling will take on a new role as head of performance services encompassing sports science and medicine, physiotherapy and massage, performance analysis and, strength and conditioning.
