Residents warned of possible traffic delays

POLICE are warning residents in South Warrington of possible traffic delays in the town this weekend due to the English Half Marathon.
The annual event will be taking place on Sunday, September 21 and is expected to attract thousands of people from across the UK.
As normal the event, which is now in its fifth year, will begin at Victoria Park. To ensure the safety of competitors, spectators and motorists the
following road closure will be in place throughout the event:

A5061 Knutsford Road – Carol Street to Grange Avenue
A5061 Halla Way
Wash Lane
Station Road Wash Lane to the Cantilever Bridge
Cantilever Bridge
Cantilever Bridge South West Approach
Ackers Road Cantilever Bridge South West Approach to A56 Chester Road
A56 Chester Road Ackers Road to Lumb Brook Road
Lumb Brook Road
Stockton Lane
Church Lane A56 Chester Road to Broad Lane
Broad Lane
Cartridge Lane
B5356 Grappenhall Lane
B5356 Stretton Road
Dipping Brook Avenue
Blackcap Road
Green Lane
Loushers Lane

The road closures are expected to be enforced between 5.00am and 1.30pm, although the closures are dynamic and there may be changes on the day. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
