HEAD Coach Steve Price has been forced to ring the changes and call up a number of “young guns” as Warrington Wolves prepare to face St Helens at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Thursday evening.

With a number of injuries following the bruising encounter in the South of France last weekend, Price has named an 18 man squad and called up a number of youngsters including Under 19s half back Riley Dean, teenage full-back Josh Thewlis and young hooker Danny Walker.

Key players missing through injury include play maker Blake Austin, joint skipper Jack Hughes and Daryl Clark, along with Dec Patton, Joe Philbin and Mike Cooper. Tom Lineham also misses out through suspension. Josh Charnley is also sidelined.

There is also speculation linking Warrington with the signing of eperienced half back Matty Smith from Catalans Dragons.

SQUAD: Sitaleki Akauola, Luther Burrell, Ben Currie, Matt Davis, Riley Dean, Bryson Goodwin, Chris Hill, Luis Johnson, Toby King, Harvey Livett, Jake Mamo, Pat Moran, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Stefan Ratchford, Lama Tasi, Josh Thewlis, Danny Walker, Ben Westwood
