WARRINGTON welcomed the New Year in with a bang as local residents lit up the skies with some spectacular firework displays.

Local photographer Eddie Whitham captured the occasion from Hill Cliffe at Appleton, with some stunning displays with the Parish Church as a back drop.

Meanwhile, better known locally for his photographic coverage at Warrington Wolves, Eddie is looking forward to his 63rd year of covering the Wire, starting with Ryan Atkin’s testimonial game against Widnes on January 20.
