A MOTORIST was rescued at Warrington this afternoon from what fire crews described as a “life risk flooding” incident.
Four fire appliances were involved in the operation at Park Lane, Higher Walton – including a water incident unit from Warrington and a rope rescue unit from Lymm.
A car had become stranded in a flooded ford in Park Lane and the occupant was trapped.
Fire and rescue teams rescued the motorist and then a local farmer recovered the car using a tractor.
The flooding was caused by heavy rain in the area.
