GYM-GOERS in the Orford area are being urged to tackle LiveWire’s ‘Sled Challenge’ and raise money for this year’s Children in Need appeal.

The annual fundraising extravaganza is being held on Friday November 16, and to support the cause LiveWire is hoping members will attempt their challenge – which involves pushing and pulling a weighted sled back and to on the gym floor.

The charity challenge will be running from Monday  to Sunday November 18 in the gym at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.

Gym users will have two mins 30 seconds to do as many 40kg sled pull/push shuttles as they can.

LiveWire staff will monitor the challenge and record results, with the winning entry at 6.00pm on Sunday November 18 receiving a free personal training session.

It will cost £1 to enter the Sled Challenge with all proceeds going to Children in Need.

And if you take part, why not snap a selfie in  Pudsey Ears and share your results on LiveWire’s social media channels?

James Birdsey, operations manager for Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, said: “LiveWire support Children in Need every year and it’s great to see a festive themed sled challenge as Christmas approaches. Fancy dress isn’t a necessity so we hope to see plenty of people having a go!”

The Children in Need fun doesn’t stop in the gym. On Friday November 16 the Creche at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub will also be taking part in Children in Need by holding a pyjama day for little ones attending that day in return for donations.
