Wire2Wolves project extended

THE Wire2Wolves Heritage Project is being extended after the Warrington Wolves Foundation was awarded further funding.

It comes from the Heritage Lottery Fund, following on from the success of the Wire2Wolves Timeline, displayed in the south stand at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The Pass it Back Project has launched a new interactive website and we will be teaming up with local libraries, community groups and residential homes, giving residents of the town the opportunity to contribute their memories to the ever-evolving website.

The project will also deliver an educational resource for local Primary Schools including school assemblies and stadium tours to help promote the history of the club and town.

To help deliver this project the Foundation are looking for a team of ‘Game Changers’ to volunteer their time and get involved across all elements of the project including:

Welcoming and Way Finding Assistants, Archivist, Memory Recorder, Stadium Tour Guide, Social Media Journalist, Event Delivery Assistant, Videographer

You will need to have good communication skills; the ability to conduct yourself in a mature and responsible manner; be reliable and with good time management skills.

You will also need the ability to deal with potentially stressful situations, along with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to help meet the projects goals.

Finally, willing to work as an individual or in a team and ability to work well in groups (both internal and external to the project).

The selection procedure for volunteers will be a two stage process where you will be expected to come to the stadium for events/interviews during October & Nov, followed by training sessions to help develop your skills.

Successful applicants will receive basic skills training during their year including first aid, equality and diversity with additional training being provided dependant on role(s) undertaken.

If you are interested in becoming one of our ‘Game Changers’ and passing back the heritage of our wonderful Rugby League Club, visit the Wolves Foundation website (http://www.wolvesfoundation.com/become-a-volunteer/) or visit The Foundation Office at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

There are limited places available and the closing date for applications is currently the 10th October.
