Students' mercy mission to orphanage

FOUR high school students and two of their teachers have flown out on a mercy mission to Moldova – generally regarded as the poorest country in Europe.
The party, from Lymm High School, will be working together with Service for Peace, in orphanages in the tiny country, which is sandwiched between the Ukraine and Romania.
They will be entertaining the children and helping with the running of the orphanage.
Staff and students worked hard raising funds to offset the high travel costs and raising £1,000 to take to the orphanage to purchase clothing, games and computer equipment.
Parents at Oughtrington Primary School also joined in the fund raising with a variety of different events.
Visit co-ordinator, Michael Scott, said;: “We are delighted with the response to our project. The visit is going to be very demanding, but we are prepared and eager to ‘do our bit’ for those less fortunate than ourselves.
Mr Scott is accompanied by a colleague, Rebecca Iles-Smith and the four students on the trip are Olivia White, 18, Alex Sims, 17, Nicola Woollacott, 18 and Jonathan Case, 18.
