PLANNING chiefs have given the go-ahead for plastic windows to be fitted in a three storey building in a conservation area at Warrington.
Officers had urged members of the borough’s development control committee to refuse permission to the change from timber framed windows at the property in Bold Street.
But councillors decided to ignore the recommendation and approved the application
Officer said the proposal was unacceptable because it did not comply with unitary development plan policies and would have a detrimental visual impact on the Palmyra Square conservation area.
But the committee agreed with the argument of the applicant – that there was no significant difference in appearance between the plastic and timber frames.
