A Warrington pub manager has been recognised among the best in the country after being crowned Greene King General Manager of the Year.
Amanda Crilly, General Manager at The Waterside in Warrington, was one of just nine pub leaders nationwide to receive the accolade at Greene King’s annual Managed Pub Conference, held in Manchester earlier this month.
Amanda has worked at The Waterside for more than 12 years, earning a reputation for her warm hospitality, strong leadership and commitment to the local community.
During her time at the pub, she has helped establish it as a popular destination for families, friends and visitors, while supporting local charitable causes and creating memorable experiences for customers.
The annual awards recognise managers who excel across all aspects of running a successful pub, including commercial performance, operational excellence, team leadership and customer experience.
Candidates are assessed on their performance across the role, their ability to engage and inspire their teams, and the respect they earn from colleagues and peers. Greene King’s Brand Operations Directors then select the final nine winners.
Amanda said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have received this award. Having been part of Greene King for over 12 years, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see The Waterside become such a special place for our guests and the local community.
“I’m lucky to work alongside a fantastic team who shares my passion for making everyone feel welcome and creating memorable experiences.
“This award is a real reflection of their hard work and dedication, and I couldn’t be more proud of everything we’ve achieved together. I’m excited to continue building on this and making The Waterside a place that people love coming back to.”
Mark McFadyen, Brand Operations Director for Pub and Grill at Greene King, praised Amanda’s contribution to the pub and the wider community.
He said: “Amanda has spent more than 12 years making The Waterside a place where people feel genuinely welcome, and the relationships she has built with guests, her team and the wider community are a real reflection of the care she brings to the role.
“Whether she’s supporting local charitable causes, creating memorable occasions for families and friends or simply making sure every guest receives a warm welcome, Amanda brings an incredible amount of energy and commitment to the pub.
“She has helped make The Waterside a much-loved part of the community, and this award is wonderful recognition of the impact she continues to make. We’re incredibly proud to see her named a General Manager of the Year.”
The General Manager of the Year awards form part of Greene King’s annual Managed Pub Conference, celebrating outstanding leadership across its managed pub estate.
