JUNIOR members from Warrington Rowing Club excelled at the British Rowing Championships in Nottingham last weekend with yet another demonstration of brilliant team spirit.
Extract from Day 1 results:
OpJ18 1x – Adam came 21st out of 88 in the time trial, making it to the D final where he came second – missing out on first place by 0.2 seconds!! WJ18 2x – Ruby & Annabelle came 17th out of 53 in their time trial, making it to the C final where they came second in another incredibly close finish! WClub 1x – Maddy came 9th out of 38 in the time trial, making it to the A/B semi-final where she came fourth, which placed her in the B final. Another very close finish (and a brush with a duck 🦆!) resulted in third place.
WJ18 2- Lucy and Emily (from Hexham) came 2nd out of 16 in the time trial, making it to the A/B semi-final where they placed third, securing them a place in the A final. Another close race which resulted in a fourth place finish.

WJ18 1x – Following on from her double yesterday, Ruby took to her single today where she came 12th (out of 53!) in her time trial, making it through to the A/B semi-final and onto the B Final where she came 5th, placing her 11th overall in a very competitive race.
OpJ16 2- Laurence & Noah came 11th in their time trial, making it to the A/B semi-final. Proceeding through to the B final, they then came third! Great result for the boys!
O Club 4x – Tom, Matt, Andrew & Sean came 11th in their time trial, making it to the A/B semi-final. They then went in to come second in their B final, finishing 8th overall.
WJ18 8+ Lucy and Annabelle sat in a composite crew in this race with athletes from Hexham and Queens Park Chester finishing with a fourth place in the A final.

Open Junior 15 1x – Gavin came 19th out of 76 in his time trial leading to the D final, which he then went on to WIN!
Open Junior 15 2x Jayden & Daniel came 23rd out of 65 in their time trial, taking them to the D Final where they came 5th.
Women Junior 15 1x Emily also came 23rd out of 66 in her time trial, leading to a D Final where she also came 5th.
Women Junior 14 1x – Beth came 8th out of 24 in her time trial, resulting in a A/B semi-final. She then came 5th in her B final.
Open Junior 14 1x – Rowing up a year, Robbie came 23rd out of 38, making it to the D final where he came 5th.
All six athletes have done so incredibly well to rank this well amongst such tough competition.
A club spokesperson said: “This is testament to the huge amount of time, hard work and commitment they all put into their training – alongside school work and daily lives – and to the dedication of their coaches.
“Shout out to all the coaches who give up so much of their time week in, week out, to support the athletes who’ve participated over the past four days – Richard, John, Janet, Pete, Caleb, Pam, Jack & Susie.
“And to the parents who support from the banks, and in so many other ways throughout the year.
