POLICE closed a road at Winwick on Friday afternoon as two fire crews tackled a fire in a field involving a combine harvester.
At 15:13, fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath attended the incident on Alder Root Lane.
On arrival, they found a fire in a field affecting an area of around 100 square metres.
A combine harvester is also believed to have been affected by the fire.
A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire, and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots.
Police were in attendance and closed the road, which has since been reopened. The incident is now closed.
