A two-vehicle collision caused a car to burst into flames and left one person hospitalised following the incident near Hatton yesterday (Monday) evening.

Emergency crews rushed to Pillmoss Lane at 7:45 pm on Monday, 6 July. Two fire engines from Lymm and Warrington attended the scene alongside police and paramedics.

Upon arrival, firefighters found one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze. They then deployed a thermal imaging camera to check the wreckage for hidden hotspots. The second vehicle involved was successfully stabilized and made safe.
Firefighters assessed five people at the scene for injuries. Two casualties were handed over to the North West Ambulance Service, with one person subsequently transported to the hospital.

Police officers closed Pillmoss Lane in both directions while emergency teams dealt with the aftermath. The heat from the vehicle fire also damaged a nearby telephone pole.
A utility company was called to the scene to handle the damaged infrastructure.
