A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of a 20-year-old student from Warrington who is ‘fighting for his life’ following a hit-and-run in London.

Five days after the horrific incident in London, Joshua Keane remains in a critical condition after sustaining serious brain, spinal, and facial injuries.
Josh, who is from Great Sankey but is living in London while studying fashion journalism, is currently receiving treatment from the trauma team at The Royal London Hospital, with his future remaining uncertain.
A community-led fundraiser has now been launched to support the family of the 20-year-old fashion journalism student.
The former Priestley College student had been living in the capital to pursue his studies. Following the collision, his friends and family have rapidly rallied together to support him and his mother, Lynsey.
As a single mother of three, Lynsey is facing what loved ones describe as “an impossible situation”. While she desperately wishes to remain at Josh’s bedside in London, she must also care for her two younger children back home in Great Sankey. The situation requires her to constantly divide her time and make regular, exhausting journeys between Cheshire and London.
To help ease the sudden emotional and financial burden, a GoFundMe page was set up by Lynsey’s close friend, Samantha. The fundraiser highlights the mounting daily costs the family is facing, including:

Long-distance travel and fuel
London accommodation
Hospital parking fees and meals
Childcare and essential living expenses for the younger children

The donation page emphasises that the family’s elderly grandparents are already helping as much as possible, leaving very little practical support available. The response from the public has been immediate.
Well-wishers have already raised more than £3,500. Samantha noted that the family is “completely overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown so far,” adding that the incredible response is a testament to how many lives Josh has touched.
The driver involved in the collision failed to stop at the scene. Following the incident, the Metropolitan Police issued an urgent appeal for witnesses. Anyone with information, dashcam footage, or CCTV from the area at the time of the crash is urged to contact the police immediately to assist with their ongoing investigation.
