THE busy traffic-bottle neck Lumb Brook Road at Appleton, Warrington, is set to close again for up to one week from July 27th.
The road between Appleton and Grappenhall will be closed while Scottish Power replace a link box, with a diversion route taking traffic down the busy London Road.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Lumb Brook Road from its junction with Grappenhall Road to its junction with Stockton Lane.
The Order will be effective from 27th July 2026 for 1 week, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Witherwin Avenue, Broom Avenue, Lyons Lane, London Road, Grappenhall Road and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to replace a link box.
The road has undergone several closures in recent times for a variety of reasons.
