THE Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT)charity near Lymm will benefit from a new two-year £120,000 commitment from the Cadent Foundation Community Fund, after it was confirmed as one of its six chosen charities.
Based in Reddy Lane, Little Bollington, Cheshire, CAFT provides day trips, seasonal activities and residential breaks – free of charge – for thousands of North West children whose lives are impacted by disability, illness or social disadvantage. Comedian Jason Manford was confirmed in February as its President.
As a minimum, CAFT will receive £10,000 from the Cadent Foundation Community Fund in each of the next two years, after North West employees of local gas distribution network Cadent voted to partner with the charity until 2028.
Cadent’s North West Network team will also raise additional funds, as well as volunteer and provide practical support to CAFT.

Helen Crowther, from CAFT, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be selected as Charity Partner for Cadent’s North West region. We’re so grateful for the support and passion their team have shown already – their commitment to make a difference is inspiring. Together we will make a huge difference in the lives of children from our region, and we’re so excited about what the next two years will bring.”
Nick Jerman, from Cadent’s North West Network, said: “The Cadent Foundation Community Fund offers our colleagues the opportunity to support a cause where our fundraising can make a huge difference to the local community.
“The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust is an incredibly worthy cause, and we are excited to plan fundraising initiatives that ensure it receives as much support as possible over the next two years.”
The Cadent Foundation Community Fund was established in 2024 to enable Cadent colleagues to nominate local charities that are close to their hearts. Since its inception, over £350,000 has been raised for charities across the UK.
Each of Cadent’s five operational networks – North West, East Midlands, East of England, West Midlands and North London – selected a local charity to support from 2026 to 2028, while colleagues at the gas network’s largest office, which is in Coventry, selected a sixth.
