A first look inside the newly-transformed Daresbury Park Hotel near Warrington has been unveiled ahead of its official opening, offering an early glimpse of the hotel’s extensive refurbishment and upgraded facilities following its use for asylum seekers.
Newly-released photography showcases the reimagined interiors across the hotel, including its fully refurbished bedrooms, redesigned restaurant and bar, and a brand-new health club – marking a major milestone in the venue’s transition into a 4-star destination within the Elite Venue Selection portfolio.
Owned by Britannia Hotels, who acquired the property from De Vere Group as part of a £20m deal in 2012, it has been undergoing a major refurbishment, after closing to the public to facilitate the Government’s strategy regarding the short-term settlement of asylum seekers, which came to an end last year.
News of the rebrand to a four-star Elite Venue Selection hotel has been met with a mixed reaction on social media, with many stating they would be boycotting the venue.
The multi-million pound investment has seen all 228 bedrooms and bathrooms completely remodelled, with contemporary designs, upgraded furnishings and modern amenities introduced throughout. The images also reveal a refreshed reception area and revitalised communal spaces, designed to create a more welcoming and cohesive guest experience.

The hotel’s bar
The hotel’s bar and restaurant have undergone a full redesign, with updated layouts and stylish decor aimed at enhancing both casual dining and social occasions. A new coffee lounge has also been introduced, providing an additional space for guests to relax, work or meet.
The first look also highlights the hotel’s new health and wellness offer. A purpose-built health club features an indoor heated pool, steam room and spa pool, as well as a fully equipped gym and fitness suite, positioning the hotel as a destination for both leisure and business travellers seeking on-site wellbeing facilities.

The new look health club
Externally, landscaping works are also progressing, with improved outdoor areas set to complement the upgraded interiors and create an enhanced arrival experience for guests.
Set to officially open in June 2026, Daresbury Park Hotel will join Elite Venue Selection – a collection of 15 premium hospitality experiences in well-connected locations. The portfolio has been curated to cater for a wide range of occasions, from weddings and conferences to spa breaks and short leisure stays.
The hotel benefits from strong transport links and is situated just three minutes from the M56 motorway and within easy reach of Warrington Quay and Runcorn East train stations, as well as Manchester Airport. The site also offers a 400-space car park and is pet-friendly.
Simon Powell, Director of Elite Venue Selection, said: “This first look gives a real sense of the dramatic transformation that’s taken place at Daresbury Park Hotel. Every aspect of the hotel has been carefully considered, from the bedrooms and social spaces through to our health club and leisure facilities.
“Our investment goes far beyond cosmetic improvements – we’ve completely reimagined the guest experience to create a modern, high-quality destination that works for everything from business stays to weekend breaks. The photography really brings that vision to life, and we’re incredibly excited to welcome our first guests in the coming weeks.”
With final preparations now underway, the first look marks the beginning of the hotel’s reintroduction to the market, offering guests and the local community an early preview of what to expect when doors open in June.
