GRAPPENHALL went down again – this time at the hands of visiting Port Sunlight.
Batting first, Grappers hit 176 in 47.2 overs – a respectable total in the light of recent performances.
Tom Brimelow top-scored with 54 and useful innings came from Iain Wright, 21 and Zak Judge 23.
But although the visitors lost a wicket before a run went on the board, they then went on to reach their target for the loss of four wickets.
Ben Bravington took 2-45.
Warrington’s recent run of disappointing results continued when they went down by 33 runs in a low scoring match at home to Winnington Park.
The visitors batted first and were all out for 92, Brandon Andrews taking 5-27 and Aamir Ali 3-14.
But Warrington were tumbled out for a mere 59, with only two batsmen reaching double figures.
Lymm Oughtrington Park shared the spoils in an exciting tied match at home to Langley.
Langley batted first at Oughtrington Lane and were all out for 140, Anthony Spaven taking 4-39. Lymm batted well and at 93-6 were in with a shout. But in the end the scores were level at 140
Former Glazebury paceman Sam Stanier – now with Langley – took 3-17.
Appleton enjoyed a 56-run victory at home to Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge.
Skipper Ian Richards top scored with 36 as Appleton totalled 148. A Akash took 6-21 as the vistors were dismissed for 92 in the 28th over.
Glazebury were humbled at Frodsham, where the home side hammered 243-8 and then dismissed Glazebury for an embarrassing 60. Wayne Hargreaves scored an unbeaten 25
