Warrington Foodbank has appointed Nicola Henshaw as its new Fundraising and Partnerships Lead.
Nicola brings extensive experience in community engagement and income generation, with recent roles at other Warrington-based charities.
Nicola’s strong network across Warrington makes her ideally placed to lead fundraising initiatives and foster partnerships that strengthen support for local people in crisis. Her appointment comes at a critical time, with demand for food banks at record highs across the UK.
According to the Trussell Trust, a record 3.1 million emergency food parcels were distributed across the UK in 2023/24 — a 16% increase on the previous year. Over 1.1 million parcels went to children.
“No one should have to choose between heating and eating, but that’s the reality for many in our community,” said Nicola. “My focus is on building strong, sustainable relationships with individuals, businesses, and community groups who want to make a lasting difference”
Chair of Trustees at Warrington Foodbank, Mike Ruck, said: “Nicola’s passion and deep understanding of Warrington’s voluntary sector make her a vital asset to our mission. We’re delighted to welcome her as we work to meet growing local need with dignity and compassion.”
Warrington Foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust network, provides emergency food parcels and support to residents experiencing financial hardship.
