DESCRIBED as “one of the greatest darts matches you’ll ever see” Warrington teenager Luke Littler has reached the Grand Slam of Darts, defeating veteran Gary Anderson 16-15 in a breath-taking semi-final.

A jubilant Littler described it as “one of the best games I’ve won!”

Tied at 15-15 Littler opened the final leg with a 180, getting down to a 121 checkout before setting up 24.

Anderson, who at one point led 13-9 couldn’t take out 155 and Littler hit D12 at the second attempt for the match.

Tournament favourite Luke Littler won a classic to set up a final with Martin Lukeman this evening 8pm, while Anderson’s wait for a first Grand Slam of Darts title goes on.

Speaking to Sky Sports after an epic semi-final win over Gary Anderson Littler said: “I know I can come back and win games like this but it would be better if I could go into the lead like Gary did.

“I went off for the last break and thought ‘you’ve got to dig deep’ and I can’t believe I won.
“I know I’ve got it, but when he’s checking out ton-finishes when I’m sat on a double and chipping out doubles with his last dart I’m like ‘Gary, just miss’.
“He was very good on his doubles today and I’m just so glad I won.
“I’ve just got to stay focused and be myself. Martin will be up for it later, so will I.
“This is one of the best games I’ve won!”
