Woman ordered to vacate property as police secure closure order following reports of drug-dealing and animal breeding

UPDATED: POLICE successfully secured a closure order following reports of drug dealing and animal breeding at a property in Great Sankey, Warrington.

The property that has caused year-long anguish for the local community has been shut down by officers following the securing of a closure order.

The closure order for the address on Mildenhall Close was granted at Crewe Magistrates Court on Monday 27 February. Officers received numerous reports from concerned residents regarding drug-related activity and animal mistreatment at the property.

These reports included frequent vehicle and foot traffic gathering at the property, thought to be related to drug dealing, as well several Rottweilers owned by the occupant being frequently left loose on the estate – causing fear and panic amongst some residents.
Following the concern, officers encouraged residents to get in touch regarding issues at the address so they could apply for a closure order.
Thanks to the fantastic support from the community, officers from the Warrington West Beat Team, were able to gather an overwhelming amount of evidence that lead to them securing a three-month closure order against their disruptive neighbour.

The occupant of the address, a 28-year-old woman, has been ordered to leave the property and find alternative accommodation.
All windows and doors will now be boarded up for a period of three months. Anyone who enters the address during that time is committing an offence and can be arrested.

Sergeant Neil Bradley of Warrington West Beat Team, said: “Officers at Warrington West Beat Team made a promise to keep this neighbourhood and its residents safe, and by removing this resident that has caused them nothing but anguish for the past 12 months, we have kept that promise.

James Cotterill of Warrington LPU said: “The residents have been incredibly supportive and are extremely grateful for the closure.
“Without communication with our residents we would not have secured this result that we have today.
“I want to urge anyone with concerns about ASB or other criminality in their community to please contact local officers and we will do everything we can to address issues and achieve justice.”
