Latest COVID-19 hot spots revealed as thirteen areas of Warrington see increases

NEW data from Public Health England reveals 13 areas of Warrington saw a rise in COVID-19 cases for the seven days ending March 20, with Lymm recording the highest number of cases.

Four areas of the town recorded zero new cases but the overall picture was up on the previous seven days, although recent data, yet to be verified, indicates the increases have plateaued.
Today’s small area data from Public Health England below revealing the town’s hot spots are for the seven days ending 20th of March with the corresponding data for the previous week ending 13th of March shown in parentheses.

The areas shown as having zero cases for the week ending 20th March had a total of eight cases spread over four areas, this can only happen if all of the four areas showing zero actually had exactly two cases each.
Office of National Statistic rules require that two cases or less should be shown as zero because two cases or one case apply usually to a single family who might be identifiable. This week the numbers are such that the rule allows us to see the actual numbers even though they are below the threshold, which is not what was intended.
