POLICE are seeking to identify a man following three incidents of “brazen” shoplifting offences at stores in Warrington.

Officers investigating the theft of electronic goods from supermarkets have now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents.

Between 7 pm and 8.30 pm on Thursday, 16 October, officers in Warrington responded to three incidents of suspected shoplifting at the Cockhedge, Westbrook and Birchwood ASDA supermarkets.
During the incidents at the Westbrook and Cockhedge, an unknown man entered the store and made off with over £200 worth of electrical appliances, namely air fryers and vacuum cleaners, after removing their security tags and leaving through the self-service checkout area.
At the Birchwood store, staff were able to intercept the man before any items left the store, but the man fled on foot.
As part of their investigation into these incidents, officers have now released an image of a man who they believe holds vital information and can aid them in their enquiries.
Police Constable Graham Davies, of Warrington LPU’s Neighbourhood Team, said: “These three incidents, unbelievably, took place across one evening and involved one particularly brazen shoplifter, who exploited the self-service system and acted as if he had already paid for the electrical goods.
“I would ask anyone who has any information in relation to any of these incidents to please contact the police through the website or by calling 101, using crime reference number 25000854045.
“I would also like to ask the person pictured, or anyone who believes they know him, to also get in touch.”
Anyone with information can contact the police via 101 or via the website.
