Local designer Isabelle Pennington-Edmead has been honoured by The King’s Foundation as one of its 35 Under 35, a network celebrating outstanding young creatives, innovators, and changemakers across the UK.
Earlier this month, Isabelle from Stockton Heath travelled to Dumfries House in Scotland, where she met His Majesty King Charles III in person at a special gathering of the 35 Under 35 network, the second time the cohort has come together since the initiative was launched. During the visit, she was invited to add an item to a time capsule created to mark the Foundation’s 35th anniversary, intended to be opened in 100 years.
“Meeting His Majesty was an extraordinary experience one I’ll never forget,” said Isabelle. “To stand in Dumfries House, surrounded by so many passionate young people, and be asked to contribute something lasting to the future felt incredibly meaningful.”
Isabelle, a former pupil at Bridgewater High School, founded her namesake label, Isabelle Pennington Edmead, a sustainable fashion brand creating bold, hand-painted prints and ethically made garments in the North West of England. Her work celebrates individuality, craftsmanship, and transparency values shared by The King’s Foundation’s long-standing commitment to traditional skills and sustainable design.
“The King’s Foundation has always championed creativity with purpose,” Isabelle added. “Being recognised for that same ethos and representing the North West’s creative spirit is a real honour.”
The 35 Under 35 network, announced by The King’s Foundation earlier this year, highlights 35 exceptional young people working in fields including fashion, architecture, heritage, and environmental stewardship. The event at Dumfries House brought the group together with The King to celebrate a shared dedication to positive change.
