New Warrington author publishes two very different books

TWO very different books have been published by new Warrington author Allen Rankin.

One, entitled “The Plot Thickens”, contains six stories, seemingly disconnected, containing many twists. These were inspired by Allen’s appreciation of the 1980’s TV series “Tales of the Unexpected”, created by Roald Dhal.
It is aimed at an adult age-range and promises a cascade of surprises, which culminate spectacularly in the final story.
The stories have stand out moments of tragedy, intrigue and betrayal. One story in particular centres around the “Victory Over Blindness” statue, outside Manchester Piccadilly railway station, whilst another takes us to Farringdon in London, where a protection racket gang is causing misery in the community.
Many of the stories are interwoven with actual facts, wrapped around the narrative. The sixth and final story brings together the previous five in ways that are unimaginable. Each story is available individually in paperback, or a composite hard-back novel can be obtained that has all stories combined. It is also available as a Kindle E-book and also as part of the Kindle Unlimited scheme.

The other book, “Ruffy”, is an illustrated children’s book in full colour. It is in hardback and aimed at three years upwards.
It features a child-friendly character called Ruffy who helps a mother and young daughter around the supermarket. This book features the main characters in three separate adventures, and also includes guest characters.
Allen has illustrated each page, having canvassed friends for their opinions on the look of each character. In addition to hardback, this book is also available as a Kindle E-book and as part of Kindle Unlimited.
Both books are available from Amazon.
