A PLAN for 237 homes at Grappenhall, Warrington has triggered objections from two parish councils, a residents’ action group and numerous individuals.

But the scheme, put forward by Redrow Homes Ltd will be recommended for approval by planning officers when it goes before the borough council’s development management committee on Thursday.
They point out that planning permission for residential development on the 12.01 hectare site was granted under the New Towns Actt as long ago as 1989.
The site involved is to the south of Curzon Drive, Keepers Road and Boddington Road, east of Lichfield Avenue and West of Stansfield Drive, Grappenhall.

It is divided into two by safeguarded land required for a southerly extension of Witherwin Avenue.
The objections, who include Appleton Parish Council , Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council and the Grappenhall Heyes Residents Group, say there are n ot enough one bedroom properties, there is a need for more footpaths, parking problems, no sports provision, shops, doctors or dentists and a biodiversity net loss.
