Officers from Warrington removed a disruptive resident from a block of flats in the town who was causing a persistent nuisance to others who lived in the building.

Warrington’s Neighbourhood Beat Team in the Padgate area of the town secured the closure order for the flat at Jurby Court at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 12 February.
The securing of the order came after local officers gathered a substantial amount of evidence that revealed that the behaviour of the occupant, a 36-year-old man, had been causing a number of issues for fellow residents who lived within the complex.
This included the property being used as a hub for drug dealing and drug usage, with a large quantity of foot traffic circulating the address. This increased footfall resulted in the property being targeted during disputes with other known drug dealers and users, with widows and doors being damaged and fights occurring with communal areas of the building.
The occupant himself was also arrested for an assault on one occasion.

For the next three months, the property will remain boarded up and inaccessible to anyone, including the occupant.
Police Constable Hazel Culleton, of the local Neighbourhood Beat Team, said: “The closure was obtained thanks to the the support of the local residents of this complex, as we know this property was causing ASB issues, impacting negatively on their quality of life.
“As a direct consequence of his own actions, the occupant has lost his home for a substantial period of time, with the property being boarded up for three months. Anyone who enters the property during this three-month period could face a fine or even an immediate prison sentence.
“I would encourage anyone who has concerns about ASB-related issues to please report it to us and we will do everything we can to tackle it and find a solution. We take all reports of ASB extremely seriously and will investigate these matters appropriately.”

Anyone with concerns about ASB in their area is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101.
