POLICE are investigating a spate of thefts from patients at Warrington Hospital.
One incident involved a sentimental gold bracelet being stolen from a patient suffering from dementia.
Warrington Worldwide has been made aware that at least six incidents of theft took place, including five patients and one member of staff.
A spokesperson for North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are aware of a number of reported incidents over a one-week period in February involving a member of staff not directly employed by the trust and are working with Cheshire Police to support their ongoing investigation.
“We take any reports of theft or criminal activity at our hospitals extremely seriously and recognise how distressing incidents of this nature can be for patients and their families.
“As a trust we make every effort to ensure our patients and their belongings are safe and secure and regularly review our security arrangements to minimise risks to patients, visitors and staff and prevent incidents occurring.”

This has been going on for years, a member of staff took off my mums pandora bracelet and it went missing nobody owned up to it or knew where it had gone.
This happened to my mum in 2023. Gold necklace was taken and when reported, I was told that nothing could be done as patients are responsible for their own belongings despite mum being 87 and poorly!
