Residents invited to help shape the future natural environment

RESIDENTS of Warrington are being invited to help shape the future of their natural environment by contributing to the development of a new strategy.

As reported by Warrington-Worldwide last week, the borough council is working with with Cheshire West & Chester and Cheshire East councils to develop the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS).

The draft LNRS for Cheshire and Warrington, aims to provides a new blueprint to help wildlife thrive, improve the ecological network, and target investment in nature to help it adapt to climate change and improve the places we live, work and play.
Now, local people are being invited to share their views on the strategy by taking part in the six-week consultation, which runs until Monday March 31. You get involved by:

• Completing the https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/LNRSonlinesurvey/
• You can also request a paper copy of the survey by calling Contact Warrington on 01925 443322 and providing your address.

• Attending one of several drop-in sessions taking place in the coming weeks, where you can meet the team, share your views on the strategy, and discuss what aspects of nature are most important to you. These sessions take place on the ground floor seating area of 1 Time Square, WA1 2NT on:

o Thursday 20 February – 10am-12noon
o Wednesday, 26 February – 11am-1pm
o Tuesday 4 March – 12noon-2pm
o Monday 10 March – 1pm-3pm
o Wednesday 19 March – 2pm-4pm
o Friday 28 March – 3pm-5pm

Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member for climate change, sustainability and the environment, Cllr Hitesh Patel, said: “Our natural world is precious, and we all have a responsibility to protect it. Our Local Nature Recovery Strategy aims to build a better future for our environment, our ecosystems, and our wildlife – and we need YOUR help!

“Please take part in our online survey or join us at one of our drop-in sessions during this consultation period and play your part in creating a flourishing, healthy, and resilient future for Cheshire and Warrington. This is your opportunity to shape this important strategy and ensure our natural environment thrives for generations to come.”

  1. It’s too late the town has been built over by too many HMOs apartments and houses and there is no room for places to visit and appreciate. Take into account warehouses as well
