PLANS to demolish a bungalow replacing it with a new one-and-a-half storey dwelling at Culcheth have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.
But the scheme in in Common Lane, proposes to retain as much of the existing structure as possible.
The roof of the existing bungalow would be completely removed to allow the creation of an upper floor with pitched dormers forming a one-and-a-half floor bungalow, minimising the height to keep it more in line with neighbouring properties.
An existing garage would be converted into a gym.
Purpose of the development is to increase the size of the family living space. All sleeping areas would be moved to the upper floor. The number of bedrooms would be increased from three to five, with ensuites and an independent bathroom.
The ground floor would comprise the existing living room and downstairs toilet with a new large kitchen-lounge area at the rear and a small garage-storage area to the front, with two additional living area – a games room and snug-lounge.
Existing and newly built walls would be rendered white, with a new grand entrance of exposed brick and full-height architectural glazing.
Pitched dormers would be used to maintain the appearance of a bungalow and the development would be designed so as not to impact adjoining properties.
The scheme is being considered by borough council planning officers.
