WARRINGTON Rylands continued their incredible run of form and a push for the play-offs with a 1 – 3 win against high-flying Stockton Town after the long trip to County Durham.
Michael Fowler put the home side in front after just seven minutes with what was possibly their only shot on target all match.
Matt Regan, recovering from an injury he picked up a few weeks ago, was replaced with the experienced midfielder Dean Furman who managed to take control of the centre spot and lay off passes around the pitch.
Rylands grew into the game and began making chance after chance but thanks to some great saves from The Anchors keeper, Nathan Harker, it took until the 41st minute before George Waring slotted the ball home for the equaliser.

Four minutes later, Waring jumped highest to beat Harker again, this time with his head, and Rylands left the field at halftime in the lead.
The second half was close as two good sides battled from end to end. A single-goal lead is always uncomfortable but Harker was on form. As the minutes ticked away Stockton piled on the pressure but three minutes into injury time new boy Taylor Bowen beat the keeper to a goal-line cross from Jake Daniels and put the game to bed.
Manager Neil Reynolds, speaking after the match, said “We’re delighted to get the points from a great side like Stockton Town. Every game in this league is a test but the camaraderie and trust between each player in this squad is exceptional.”
He went on to thank the travelling fans who made the long trek to the North East. “We’re putting smiles on peoples’ faces so we must be doing something right.”
Warrington Rylands are on an amazing run of form but this was the first time in the league this year they’ve come back from a goal down to take all three points.
February is a busy month and next up is a trip to Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday 11th February.
