WARRINGTON Rylands cruised to victory at the SFC Stadium with a convincing 0-4 win over Bamber Bridge.

The return to Brig was a special weekend for Neil Reynolds, the place where he began his managerial career in football following a spell as their midfield player.

Rylands have not lost a league game since 23 November 2024 when they were narrowly beaten by Ilkeston, who currently sit 5th in the table, and now boast a run of ten games unbeaten.

As a contrast to last week’s match on the firm Astro Turf of Mickleover, the going was heavy on a soft and wet grass pitch. Having dominated the first half it was obvious that the conditions underfoot were having an effect later in the match; Rylands’ players were not as quick to the ball after 60 minutes but they were strong enough to prevent Bamber Bridge from scoring.
Luke Pilling was an observer for most of the game, but reacted superbly when needed.
Goals from Alex Kiwomya, Jake Daniels, Jake Burton and Ben Hardcastle came within a 30-minute run. Harvey Bardsley, although disappointed in the Brig goal, was strong enough to prevent the score from doubling and even saved a penalty from Ben Hardcastle.
Reynolds felt The Blues were “exceptional in the first half” and playing as ‘a team’ it is clear that picking a man of the match would be a difficult task. “Keeping a clean sheet is important for Pilling and the defence, as much as scoring at the other end.”

With such a challenging pitch it was great to have players coming off the bench; they not only rested tired legs but strengthened the team at the right moment.
‘Reno’ went on to praise the travelling supporters who are growing in numbers every match. The noise and support that they present was amazing and all he wants to do is put smiles on their faces. He is certainly doing that!
Matt Regan came off injured just before half-time but hopefully will be fit again for the next match, which will be against Matlock Town at The Hive Arena on Saturday 1st February.
