THREE students from Priestley College have received His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet Award for Endeavour.

Cadet Petty Officer Grace Moss, Cadet Flight Sergeant Shauna Smyth, who are both on the college’s Protective Services course, as well as Cadet Sergeant Harry White were honoured.
In her commendation, Grace was acknowledged for her ‘exemplary commitment to service’ during nearly five years with the Sea Cadets.
“I’m looking at a future career in the Navy so this was a great honour for me,” said the former Lymm High pupil.
Grace has achieved the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and the highest rank in the Sea Cadets.

She was recognised for her dedication to the catering branch, coupled with invitations to support courses for younger cadets that showcased her selflessness and has also completed four offshore week-long voyages.
The awards are given to volunteers and cadets in recognition of their outstanding service and are intended to supplement honours bestowed by His Majesty The King in the New Year and Birthday Honours Lists.
Shauna, a former pupil at Kings Leadership Academy, said her award followed four and a half years in the air cadets.
“I want to join the RAF as a logistics officer so this award means a lot to me,” she said.

Both Shauna and Harry received a similar commendation in recognition of their achievements in the air cadets.
Harry, who is looking to become an Engineering or Weapons Systems Officer, was described as a ‘standout cadet.’
“My goal is to go to university and hopefully secure a scholarship through the MoD,” said the former Kings Leadership Academy pupil.
