WARRINGTON is witnessing another cold snap this weekend as the temperatures turned distinctly chilly.
Although snow and ice have disappeared after days of cold weather at the start of 2025, the temperatures have fallen again.
Temperatures on Saturday morning, although above 0C were hovering around 3C but the windchill meant it felt a lot colder.
The overnight temperature on Saturday is set to plunge to 1C just above freezing but it will feel more like -1C, according to the Met Office.
And Sunday will be similarly wintry.
The day will see lows of 2C with temperatures only rising to 4C.
With the windchill, it will feel more like -2C or -1C on Sunday morning.
The week ahead sees more cold weather as temperatures are in low single-digit Centigrade and it only warms up slightly on Friday as there will be highs of 8C.
The Met Office forecast is cloudy overnight on Saturday, January 18 and cold and frosty with freezing fog patches at times.
Forecasters said Sunday will be “another cold and cloudy day for most. Maximum temperature 4C.
The outlook for the first half of the week is “patchy rain and drizzle… interspersed with drier brighter intervals too. Some cold and frosty nights to come, but slowly recovering to nearer average.”
