WARRINGTON South MP Sarah Hall has spent another “busy day” in the Dallam and Bewsey area of Warrington, speaking to constituents handing out hot food, cleaning supplies and emergency food parcels to those recovering after the floods.
So far more than £3,000 has been raised to help support local families, some of whom have been unable to return to their flood-affected homes.
Ms Hall said: “I want to say a huge thank you to those who have donated and supplied food at this crucial time and another huge thank you to all of the volunteers, Caitlin from Warrington Voluntary Action, Sam from Warrington Housing Association, Torus, Cllr Dhillon and Cllr Eglinton.
“Your kind donations to the New Year Flood Appeal are already hard at work helping people to get back on their feet and cleaning their homes. We have raised more than £3000 to support local families and every penny really does help!

Ms Hall added: “We are providing targeted assistance to make sure the right support gets to the people who need it, but you need to reach out to me if you require it.
“Heading back through Bewsey today I spotted a rainbow 🌈 although we have a long way to go there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
Meanwhile, Warrington Borough Council, Torus Housing and local Cllrs. have come under fire from some residents who social media, saying not enough was being done to support those in need.
It has also been recognised that significant investment is required to prevent further flooding in the area, which was also badly hit in January 2021.
Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols is lobbying the Environment Agency and the Government for more support.
