Police have secured a three month closure order against a disruptive address that left neighbouring residents fearful of leaving their homes.

Officers from Warrington West Policing Team were granted a closure order at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 19 December.
This comes after officers attended the court with evidence relating to several incidents of anti-social behaviour by the resident and those frequently visiting the property within a residential complex at the address on Penketh Court.
The court also heard that it was this troublesome behaviour that left other residents who shared the building fearing to leave their homes, not wanting interact with the occupant.
As a result, the address has been closed for a period of three months and, during that time, nobody is allowed to enter the addresses – this includes the tenant.
Anyone who enters the addresses during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.

Chief Inspector Neil Drum, of Warrington Local Policing Unit , said: “We know from having spoken to other residents from within this complex that the anti social behaviour of their neighbour, and the subsequent company he kept with the frequent foot traffic coming to and from the address, caused them considerable stress.
“Enforcing this closure was a real team effort with officers supporting with forcing entry and then securing the residence. The team will now work with our partners to make sure that the closure is fully enforced and any offences dealt with robustly.
“Closure orders are just one of the many tools your local Warrington officers use to help keep communities safe and crime free; I hope that the securing of this orders makes for a stark reminder that, we will always take swift action and will not hesitate to shut down a disruptive property if we have too.”
