What are T Levels?
T Levels are a high-quality technical qualification designed as an alternative to A Levels. Developed in collaboration with employers, these two-year programmes combine classroom learning with real-world experience, allowing students to develop the employability and sector-specific skills and become job-ready. Equivalent to 3 A Levels, T Levels provide a clear pathway to skilled employment, higher apprenticeships, or university following completion of the course.
At Warrington & Vale Royal College, students can choose from a variety of T Level courses, in subject areas including: Accountancy & Business, Digital & IT, Early Years, Engineering, Health & Social Care, Science, Motor Vehicle and Media. The college also provides a number of T Level Foundation Year courses, designed to support students who may need to strengthen their GCSE results before progressing to a T Level course.
How does the Industry Placement work?
A cornerstone of the T Level experience is the industry placement, which spans a minimum of 45 days (approximately 315 hours) over the two years of study. This hands-on placement allows students to apply their learning in a professional environment, develop valuable workplace skills, and make meaningful connections with potential employers. Warrington & Vale Royal College works closely with local and national employers to ensure placements are both enriching and aligned with students’ career aspirations.
