SNOW fell overnight in Warrington as temperatures plummeted to below zero Centigrade with the wind chill factor making it feel more like -2C.

Pedestrians are warned to take care on icy surfaces to avoid slips and falls. Power cuts are possible due to the cold weather which could also affect mobile phone coverage.
Motorists driving in wintry weather are urged to plan their routes, check for delays and road closures and allow more time for journeys. They should check windscreen wipers, tyres and screenwash and pack essentials in their car, including a blanket and snow shovel. They are urged to carry a fully charged mobile phone with an in-car charger or battery pack.

The Met Office said it will be a frosty morning with icy patches in places but turning dry and bright with plenty of sunny spells. It will feel cold with brisk northerly winds, particularly on the hills and over higher ground.
Maximum temperatures on Tuesday will be 5C during the day. Tuesday night looks like another cold night with largely clear skies allowing a frost to form.
